General

The Board shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or disability

in its instructional program or activities.

Sex shall be defined as the "immutable characteristics of the person's reproductive system that
5
identify the person as male or female, as determined by anatomy and genetics existing at the time of
6
birth."

Discrimination shall include antisemitism, defined as a certain perception of Jews, which may be
8
expressed as hatred toward Jews including, but not limited to, rhetorical and physical manifestations of
9
antisemitism directed toward Jewish or non-Jewish individuals and/or their property, toward Jewish
10
community institutions and religious facilities. 3

The Board approves the following broad-based instructional goals for students:

To acquire the knowledge and attitude necessary to achieve and maintain good physical and
14
mental health;

To develop the skills necessary to function as a self-directed person;
17

To develop the capacity to cope with change through an understanding of the arts, humanities
19
and scientific processes;
20

To know the principles involved in making moral and ethical choices;
22

To develop the basic skills of reading, writing, computation, spelling, speaking and problem
24
solving;

To develop a positive attitude toward learning as a lifelong endeavor;

To learn to identify personal talents and interests, make appropriate career choices, and develop

career skills;
