All uses of tobacco, electronic/battery operated devices, vapor products, and all other associated

paraphernalia are prohibited in all of the school district's buildings and in all vehicles that are owned,
3
leased, or operated by the district. 1 Smoking and vaping shall be prohibited in any public seating areas
4
including, but not limited to, bleachers used for sporting events or public restrooms.²
5
Employees and students in the school district will not be permitted to use these products while they are
6
participants in any class or activity in which they represent the school district.

Signs will be posted throughout the district's facilities to notify students, employees, and all other persons
8
visiting the school that the use of these products is forbidden. The following notice shall be prominently
9
posted (including at each ticket booth) for elementary or secondary school sporting events: Smoking is
10
prohibited by law in seating areas and in restrooms³

Use of tobacco, vaping or e-cigarettes is listed as a misbehavior level II offense in the Code of
12
Behavior and Discipline Procedures policy. The following disciplinary procedures for students will be
13
applied.

1st offense- 2 days ISS (in-school suspension)
20
2nd offense-3 days ISS (in-school suspension)
21
3rd offense- 5 days ISS (in-school suspension)

4th or more offenses: Suspension in addition to the foregoing, when a student is found to be in
23
possession of tobacco or nicotine.

**For each offense a court petition must be filed.
