East Hickman Family Resource Mid-Year Report Priority 1: Families 68 children received backpacks and school supplies so far this school year 18 students received shoes or clothes from EFRC. 3 students received all their shoes, clothes, backpacks, hygiene supplies, and any other items needed for back to school. EFRC has provided over 1,500 snacks for students this school year. EFRC provides snacks for students who do not have snacks on a daily basis. Teachers will reach out to me and I will deliver them to their classroom. EFRC serves 78 students weekly on Friday Friends Food Program 35 Families received Thanksgiving Dinner Boxes EFRC is currently serving 286 children through Operation Santa and all children are sponsored and will be provided Christmas. 45 of those families will also receive Christmas Dinner Boxes. 18 students and their families have received food from the EFRC Food Pantry this year EFRC held a coat drive (FREE coat giveaway) roughly 60 families were served and 150 items were handed out. (coats, hoodies, rain jackets, sweaters) I also handed out gloves, scarves, hats, and shoes. EFRC partnered with One Gen Away to host a monthly mobile food distribution at EHHS. 300 cars were served a grocery cart full of food for the months of August, September, October, and will be happening again Dec. 13. EFRC and One Gen held a pop-up food handout at EHHS on Tuesday November 24, 2025 where 200 families received a box of shelf stable food and a box of produce for free. EFRC has provided Free Haircuts for 10 students this year. Several more are scheduled in the month of December. EFRC has a weekly preschool class that meets on Tuesday for 2 hours at EHES. There are 6 students in the class right now. The students learn educational material and then also take home material to help parents work with them at home. Priority 2: Readiness EFRC is rewarding the class with the most perfect attendance days in each month at EHES. The class gets to pick their reward. Some options are free ice cream during lunch time, cupcakes and snacks, extra recess, or whatever they would like. EFRC is working with school staff members, churches, volunteers, and organizations to secure someone to come into EHES and read to a class each month. I am in hopes this will promote literacy and show the kids reading can be fun. The guest readers normally bring goody bags, snacks, or a craft that is associated with the book they are reading. EFRC helps tutor students who are struggling or have fallen behind. I work with teachers to identify students who might need a little extra support. Sometimes I help them in the classroom, sometimes I contact the parents and offer tutoring before school at early morning drop off, and sometimes I just help parents with extra games and extra material so they can help their child at home. Priority 3: Community EFRC provided 19 teachers at EHES, and 17 teachers at EHIS with class sponsors for this school year. EFRC hosted a sponsor meet and greet for both schools back in August. 18 sponsors attended the meet and greet at EHES and 15 sponsors attended at EHIS. EFRC participated in the Truck or Treat at EHES where roughly 600 children were given Halloween treats. EFRC has an advisory board of 17 members right now. I am always looking to expand that number in hopes to get more community involvement and more community support. I am expecting 3 new members at the December meeting. EFRC has committed to TN KIDS NUTRITION FOOD for the summer of 2026. I along with my team of volunteers will be handing out free meals to any child under the age of 18 for 10 weeks in the summer of 2026. It will be May 26 - July 28. This will happen once a week on Tuesday. EFRC has committed to continue with One Gen Away for free Mobile Food Handouts for the year of 2026.
