SUBJECT: AUTHORIZATION TO INITIATE TN STATE CATEGORY 2 E-RATE MINI-BID PROCESS
Statement of Permission
1, Tim Hobbs , acting in my capacity as Chairman of the Hickman County Board of Education,
hereby grant the school district and its designated representatives permission to proceed with all
necessary procedures to procure funding through the Tennessee State Category2E-Rate Mini-
Bid process.
Purpose and Deadline
This authorization is provided to ensure the district remains in compliance with the April 1st, 2026,
E-Rate filing deadline. Initiating these procedures immediately is vital for securing the federal and
state discounts required for the district's telecommunications and internet infrastructure.
Acknowledgment of Board Authority and Local Funding
It is understood by all parties that while this authorization allows the procurement process to begin,
the following conditions apply:
This action is a preliminary step taken specifically to meet strict regulatory and state
deadlines.
The results of the mini-bid and the proposed funding plan will be presented to the Hickman
County Board of Education as a whole during the scheduled meeting on April 13th, 2026.
Final approval, the legal authority to enter into any resulting contracts, and the allocation of
necessary local matching funds remain strictly subject to the vote and approval of the full
Board.
