Resolution 26-36

Regarding the service of retiring county commissioners. Dated August 24, 2026. Added to the agenda under new business (not in the original packet).

WHEREAS, in July 2016, the Honorable Claude Callicott was appointed to the Hickman County Legislative Body and has completed 10 years of service; and

WHEREAS, in August 2006, the Honorable Keith Nash was elected to the Hickman County Legislative Body and has completed 20 years of service; and

WHEREAS, in August 2006, the Honorable Ricky Murray was elected to the Hickman County Legislative Body and has completed 20 years of service; and

WHEREAS, the Honorable Danny Clark has served the Hickman County Legislative Body and has completed 15 years of service; and

WHEREAS, in August 2008, the Honorable Wayne Thomasson was elected to the Hickman County Legislative Body and has completed 18 years of service; and

WHEREAS, in August 2014, the Honorable Clay Chessor was elected to the Hickman County Legislative Body and has completed 12 years of service; and

WHEREAS, in August 2010, the Honorable Todd Collins was elected to the Hickman County Legislative Body and has completed 16 years of service; and

WHEREAS, in August 2022, the Honorable Ron Mayberry was elected to the Hickman County Legislative Body and has completed four years of service; and

WHEREAS, in August 2018, the Honorable Matthew Barnhill was elected to the Hickman County Legislative Body and has completed eight years of service; and

WHEREAS, in August 2010 for four years and again in February 2025 for 18 months totaling five and a half years, the Honorable Ron Puckett was elected and appointed to the county legislative body; and

WHEREAS, in October 2025, the Honorable Jim Herron was appointed to the Hickman County Legislative Body and has served until completion; and

WHEREAS, the Hickman County Legislative Body is desirous of commending them for their dedication and service to the citizens of Hickman County;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Hickman County Legislative Body in regular session August 24, 2026, that:

SECTION 1: The Hickman County Legislative Body is desirous of commending them for their dedication and outstanding service to the citizens of Hickman County, and during their terms some of the accomplishments that are above and beyond the required duties as commissioner.

SECTION 2: They each have served on numerous committees during their terms, spending countless hours of their own time for the betterment of the citizens of Hickman County.

SECTION 3: This resolution shall take effect upon its passage, the public welfare requiring it.

Board action: Adopted 12 yes, 2 absent (August 24, 2026). Plaques were presented to commissioners with 10 or more years of service.
